From the formation of the insurance contract up until its expiration including the carrying out of its terms & conditions, mainly those pertaining to claims management, the insurer as well as the insured, and the broker in cases where the latter acts as an intermediary between the insured and the insurer, must observe legal rules, some of which are mandatory overriding provisions, in order to avoid incurring liability and sanctions such as the nullification and voidance of the litigious terms, loss of coverage, and termination of the contract prior to the expiration of term.
